Common Questions

Common questions about GPU cluster deployment answered directly.

What is an NVIDIA BCM GPU cluster? +
NVIDIA Base Command Manager (BCM) is an enterprise software platform designed to simplify the deployment, management, and scaling of GPU clusters for AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing workloads. It provides a unified management layer that handles everything from bare-metal provisioning to workload orchestration, making it easier for organizations to get maximum performance from their GPU infrastructure. A BCM GPU cluster typically consists of multiple GPU nodes interconnected through high-speed networking fabric, managed centrally through the BCM platform. This setup allows organizations to run large-scale AI training, inferencing, and HPC workloads efficiently across multiple nodes. BCM includes tools for cluster health monitoring, user management, job scheduling, and software stack management - giving IT teams complete visibility and control over their GPU infrastructure from a single pane of glass.
Do you provide on-site installation or remote only? +
We provide both on-site and remote installation services depending on your project requirements. For most BCM GPU cluster deployments, on-site presence is recommended for the physical hardware setup, cabling, and initial network configuration. Our engineers can travel to your facility to handle the complete physical installation, rack and stack, and bring-up process. Once the hardware is operational, many configuration, software deployment, and optimization tasks can be performed remotely, reducing the need for extended on-site engagement. We work with you to determine the right balance of on-site and remote support based on your location, team capabilities, and project timeline. Post-installation support and ongoing management can be handled fully remotely through secure access, ensuring your cluster remains healthy and optimized without requiring a physical visit for every issue.
What software stack do you install? +
Our BCM cluster deployments include a comprehensive software stack tailored to your AI and HPC workload requirements. The base installation typically includes the operating system, GPU drivers, CUDA toolkit, and NVIDIA Base Command Manager itself. On top of this foundation, we configure the high-speed network fabric drivers and libraries needed for efficient multi-node communication. Depending on your use case, we can deploy container runtimes such as Docker or Singularity, workload managers and job schedulers, monitoring and observability tools, and AI/ML frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow. We also configure storage integrations for shared file systems commonly used in HPC environments. Every software stack is validated end-to-end to ensure all components work together correctly before handover. Our goal is to deliver a fully functional, production-ready environment so your team can focus on running workloads rather than managing infrastructure.
How long does a BCM cluster installation take? +
The timeline for a BCM GPU cluster installation depends on several factors including cluster size, facility readiness, network complexity, and the software stack required. A straightforward small-scale deployment can be completed in a few days, while larger enterprise-grade clusters with complex networking, storage integration, and custom software requirements may take several weeks from start to finish. Key phases of the installation include site assessment and preparation, hardware rack and stack, network configuration, BCM platform deployment, software stack installation, validation and testing, and knowledge transfer to your team. We provide a detailed project plan before work begins so you have clear visibility into each phase and milestone. Our team works efficiently to minimize disruption to your operations while ensuring every component is properly configured and thoroughly tested before the cluster is handed over for production use.
Can you help with ongoing support after installation? +
Yes, we offer ongoing support services after installation to ensure your BCM GPU cluster continues to operate at peak performance. Our post-installation support includes cluster health monitoring, troubleshooting, software updates, and performance optimization. We can serve as your dedicated GPU infrastructure support team, handling day-to-day operational issues so your internal team can focus on running workloads and achieving business outcomes. Support is available remotely for most issues, with on-site assistance available when required. We offer flexible support arrangements ranging from ad-hoc assistance to structured managed support agreements with defined response times. As your cluster grows or your workload requirements evolve, we can also assist with capacity planning, hardware expansion, and software stack upgrades to keep your infrastructure aligned with your needs.
